Feedback
If, at any time, you feel that your needs are not being met or you are not getting what you want out of the coaching or training group, please tell me, so we can discuss your needs and adjust your coaching program, as needed. We will continue to work on the goals that you define unless you want to stop, which we will do whenever you ask.
Session Information
Session Time
Coaching is scheduled at the mutual convenience of the Coach and the Client. If you don’t have a standing time, the day and time for the next video call will be scheduled at the close of each coaching session.
Cancellation
To avoid charges for that session, you must give 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or change an appointment time.
Termination
Either party may end the coaching relationship at any time by communicating that information either verbally or in writing.
Confidentiality
I protect the confidentiality of communications with my coaching clients. I will only release information about our work to others with your written permission or if I am required to do so by a court order. Please understand that as a life coach, there is no formal confidentiality as there is with a therapist. However, I will abide by all confidentiality agreements we make and discuss any need to share information if necessary. I will share only what you agree to allow.
There are some situations in which legal obligation involves a breach of your confidentiality to protect others from harm, including:
-
(a) If I gain information that indicates abuse of a child, elderly, or disabled person. I must report that to the appropriate state agency.
-
(b) If a client is at imminent risk to themselves or makes threats of imminent violence against another person. I am required to take protective actions.
These situations rarely occur in coaching practices, but if they do, I will try to discuss them with you before acting. As you probably know, protecting the confidentiality of information transmitted electronically, specifically E-mail and data stored on computers connected to the Internet, is impossible. However, encryption can be used if you require greater protection.
Coaching Sessions
Expectations:
As your Coach, my job is to help you use and develop the information and skills that you already have and:
-
(a) make decisions about which changes you would like to make
-
(b) develop a personal "action plan" to make those changes,
-
(c) to implement your action plan and make the behavioral changes, and
-
(d) to develop strategies to maintain the changes you have made.
I will support, encourage, teach, and help you stay "on track" toward your goals.
Coaching does not offer any guarantee of success. You, as the Client, set the agenda for your coaching, and your success will depend on your willingness to define and take risks and try new approaches. You can expect your Coach to be honest and direct, asking straightforward questions and using challenging techniques to help you move forward. You evaluate your progress, and if the coaching is not working as you wish, you should immediately inform your Coach so we can take steps to correct the problem. Like any human endeavor, coaching can involve feelings of distress and frustration accompanying the change process.
Relationship:
It is also essential to understand that Coaching is a professional relationship. While it may feel like a close personal relationship, it cannot extend beyond professional boundaries, either during or after our work together. Considerable experience shows that blurred boundaries endanger the hard-won benefits gained from the coaching relationship.
Mutual Nondisclosure
The Coach and Client mutually recognize that they may discuss plans, business affairs, customer lists, financial information, job information, goals, personal information, and other private information. I will not voluntarily communicate your information to a third party.
To honor and protect my intellectual property, you agree not to disclose or communicate information about my practice, materials, or methods to any third parties without permission. Referrals are always appreciated and do not fall into this category as long as you share your experience.
Dispute Resolution
Any controversy or claim relating to this agreement shall be settled by arbitration with a mutually agreed upon arbitrator. The losing party shall bear the costs of the arbitration.
